City Clerk

C&S is seeking to fill a City Clerk position in central Missouri.

Salary for City Clerk: $12.50-$15/hr.

City Clerk responsibilities:

  • answering phones and assisting walk-ins;
  • taking payments;
  • performing contract administration duties;
  • attending board meetings and keep minutes;
  • preparing and posting agendas;
  • maintaining computer accounting system (entering city money transactions, receipts, and disbursements);
  • processing payroll and related tax reports;
  • preparing and submitting various government reports and proper paperwork for all municipal elections;
  • other related City Clerk duties

City Clerk requirements:

  • At minimum an Associate’s Degree in business or accounting and/or 4 years of experience in accounting field; or considerable experience in clerical work of a responsible nature including experience with public contact;
  • High School graduation supplemented by courses in accounting, business education, office procedures and computers or any combination equivalent to two years college-level course work in secretarial science and records management or related field; or three years of progressively responsible administrative secretarial, records maintenance or business office management experience including public contact and customer relations experience
  • Must have strong Word & Excel knowledge, and general computer knowledge
